Message From the Regional Vice President

Dear Brothers of the Southwestern Region:Greetings!

Welcome to the Official Website for the Southwestern Region.  Here you will be able to find and exchange current information, receive the latest Regional updates, communicate with the Region’s Leadership Team and register for upcoming district and regional events!

We invite to you explore this website to discover more about the Southwestern Region’s aggressive agenda for change “THE ALPHA DELIVERY:  Keeping Promises…Exceeding Expectations.”  Learn the issues that this new platform will address; review the new strategic plan; and more importantly take note of the innovative solutions and strategies for success that will be delivered to the Brotherhood in the days and months to come.

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. is at undeniable crossroads with respect to the contributions it must make to the broader society during the next 100 years.  In his letter to then nineteenth General President, Belford V. Lawson, Jewel Robert Harold Ogle wrote:  “Never before was it as incumbent upon every member to restate loyalty and exemplify fraternal obligation by consistent life and unimpeachable character.  But these must be reinforced by a growing consciousness of the responsibilities that Alpha Phi Alpha faces in the world today, where if ever the problems which beset us are to be solved and a way of deliverance discovered, it must be by the application of those principles upon which we are founded...these thoughts, my brothers, are my conception of our duties and responsibilities to Alpha Phi Alpha.”

This same clarion call, issued by Jewel Ogle in 1936, is one that is still applicable today.  We must, as an individual and collective brotherhood, reexamine our fraternal obligations and commitments, and where appropriate readjust them such that they align with those principles upon which our beloved organization was founded.  Then, and only then, will we be able to renew our strength as an organization and our true value to downtrodden humanity will ultimately be realized.  Then, and only then, according to Jewel Ogle, will the world’s problems be solved and a way of deliverance discovered – Indeed it is time for The Alpha Delivery!
